So bummed!!!! Bad experience with dmnds4u.com!!!

Hi everyone. I am really bummed and needed a place to vent
For those of you who saw my past threads on earring jackets, you know that Dmnds4u.com offered to custom make some gorgeous G VS .50ctw diamond earring jackets for me at a great price. But the bummer is that though they are gorgeous they don't fit my ears (they did not make them the exact shape that I needed to fit my tiny attached earlobes). I have e-mailed numerous times and they won't e-mail me back now. They were really great about customer service before I paid and even right after, but I am really bummed that now that there is a problem and I want them to redo the jackets, they won't even respond. I last heard from Ben at dmnds4u on June 9th and he said he would get back to me regarding my questions. I never heard back from him. I last e-mailed back on June 9,and again on the 15th and 19th and have heard no response. So I have resorted to trying to sell the jackets on ebay. if that doesn't work I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and filing a paypal dispute given that the jackets were not made to the exact measurements that I requested.

What a bummer!!!! Here is my ebay listing where you can see lots of pretty pics...I just wished these fit my tiny ears!!!!

I would think if you gave him exact measurements of what you needed, they should fix them? I hate that it turned out this way
. Do they have a phone number to call or someone else to speak with?

Yikes, not good at all. I remember them and they were very pretty, however they did not make them to your specs, so you should be able to return them, for a full refund.

They should have to eat this one since they screwed up.

I would start the dispute now, unless you can get every penny back selling them on eBay.

Not a good company that won't fix their mistakes. So sorry you have to go through this.

that's a shame those jackets didn't work out for you, dawn.

you know, adwar has a lot of castings for halo jackets. maybe after you sell these, you can have one of the vendors here order a pair from adwar.

Thank you Bling and yes becaues of you (your info about Adwar on my last thread about the jackets) I plan on doing exactly that once I get my money back for these. Thanks for the advice. They have really nice items on the adwar website and David Klass said he can order the right size jackets in and set them with .50 carats of G VS diamonds for only $50 more than dmds4u.com charged me. I hope the ebay listing sells so I can just be done with this and move onto getting something that fits

PS Adwar won't allow non-jewelers to make accounts with them, but they don't allow you to view their most recent items without an account..anyone know how I can personally see their most recent stuff? I wonder if jewelers will let you log in with their info?.....

That's odd. I never used Adwar. BUT I've used Stuller and you can view their stuff. The only thing you are not allowed to see is pricing unless you have a jeweler's account with them. I've picked items I've wanted and my jeweler would get prices for me and order them.

i surf on adwar all the time. there's so much existing products to look at anyway, i don't need to preview the new items. just wait 180 days and they'll show up
i doubt any of the jewelers here will let you log in with their info.

Re: So bummed!!!! Bad experience with dmnds4u.com!

Guess what ladies?!!!!! The earring jackets didn't sell on ebay and paypal won't let me file a claim because it's been over 45 days since payment!!! I didn't even receive the jackets until a month after payment and I've been trying to contact dmnds4you since I got them!!! Anyone know what I can do? I've tried e-mailing and calling dmnds4you and have not heard back..again.

I don't know what to do!!! If paypal won't let me file a dispute then I can't file a claim right? This is so frustrating since they didn't make the jackets as they promised. They should fix it or at least refund me after I ship them back!

Maybe I could wait and try to sell them on the bistro or something. They are beautiful and would look great on someone with ear lobes. I just don't want to wait around for months until they sell. Though at $410 for .50 cts of VS G diamonds, they might sell quickly.

What do you all think?

Have you tried to contact the BBB in their area? What about calling paypal directly. I know that the standard policy is 45 days but maybe they can open up a claim under certain circumstances. If all else fails, issue a chargeback with the credit card company. Tell them that the item is not what was agreed upon and you have had no success contacting the vendor to resolve the problem. I hope you can get something worked out.

I do think it's interesting that dmnds4u.com was all over the board trying to get you to buy and has since been no where to be found. What ever happened to being a "stand-up" person!?

Did you pay with a credit card? If so, you can probably file a chargeback with your credit card company.
I paid $12 with my paypal balance and the rest with my credit card through paypal...would this work even though the credit card was through paypal?

Thanks for the advice! I will call them tomorrow. I know I can't believe how this dmnds4you.com thing has turned out! The whole point of him giving me such a great deal was so that I would write a positive review for them!!! So much for the positive review!!! I hope no one makes the mistake of buying from them only to end up with a situation like this one.

It's not actually through "paypal" it has to be backed by a bank. What do your statements say? Alot of merchant credit cards are backed by GE Moneybank.

I was right, it is GEMoneybank!

Who issues the PayPal Plus Credit Card?
The PayPal Plus Credit Card is issued by GE Money Bank, one of the leading providers of consumer credit.

I didn't purchase through the paypal plus credit card...I purchased with my own pre-exising card that I registered with paypal. I'll check my statements tomorrow.

i would just do a charge back with your credit card, then. i always pay for everything via credit card through paypal. i figure if someone screws me over, if paypal won't help me, my CC is always more than happy to.

My credit card has always been helpful at getting my money back. I once bought a diamond band for my DH at a pawn shop, ends up 1 year later they were not diamonds. I trusted them since they are a well known establishment and all the jewelers in town trusted them too. My CC was more than happy to settle things if they weren't.

I honestly thought it could have been a mistake. But I went in this year and asked to see a pendant. I asked them to check it for me, and it was not diamonds. Sounds fishy after the 2nd time.

Bling did paypal close your account after your cc did the chargeback?
