Reading through this post has been an eye opening experience for me. I think I am putting way to much importance and time on rings lately, and am very uncomfortable w/what I just read. I understand how upsetting it can be not getting "exactly" what we invisioned in our heads. It is disappointing, but perspective is everything. My glass is raised to you Miss KK for coming through whatever it is you survived. I wish you all the best, and I hope you eventually find a ring that can help you celebrate your life. No vendor is perfect, and at one time or another they have all taken heat on this forum from different people who were not pleased with the end result of a ring. Please don't any of you take this post the wrong way, I am not bashing anyone. I think a light bulb just went off in my head, and need to step back for a while. Wishing you all the best.

I'm sorry if my post made you feel uncomfortable SB.

I have to disagree with you when you say "exactly how we envision in our head." I never envisioned this ring in my head, I envisioned it as it looked in Amcors own gallery and on the bistro. The ring I received wasn't even close.

You are right that perspective is everything and this experience sure opened my eyes on everything. I have no plans to buy anymore expensive pieces and honestly when the time comes I'm not looking forward to even getting an e-ring now. We all have our ups and downs and we all go through life the best we can. Again, I'm sorry if my post made you uncomfortable but I'm still going to stand behind every word of it. I wish you the best in your time away from the forums. I hope that you find a new fresh perspective and your life will be the more positive because of it.

I wanted to post my story, not to be mean, but to hopefully create action. I don't want anyone to have to go through this process and end up unhappy and I feel the best way to create change is to share our experiences. If I didn't post this review how honest would I be? I think we all should share our sparkle experiences, good bad or ugly. Its important because this forum helps so many people and if my post can save one person from the disappointment I went through or cause Amcor to make changes to their quality control than that in my mind is a win and my negative experience created a positive one.

As a long time lurker, I felt compelled to register just to respond, after reading through this thread.

Wow!!!! I mean... WOW!

I have bought at least 6 pieces from Amcor Design this past year, a combination of rings, earrings and a bracelet, 2 rings were custom designs that are truly beautiful in every way.

I cannot say enough about the wonderful customer service, quality and pricing that I have received from this vendor. As others have said no vendor is perfect, but considering that you got a full refund including your shipping, I am really floored at your need to post such a scathing review and the numerous photos of your ring at every possible angle.

I work in retail customer service myself and have been on the receiving end of customer un-satisfaction, but this review and responses is really over the top IMO.

When someone describes a merely disappointing purchase as "devastating" and causing "loss of sleep", I have to ask, is this really about not getting the ring you wanted? Especially when you lost nothing, since you got your money back.

I hope this one review won't discourage people from purchasing from this vendor. They get it really right WAY more than they have gotten it wrong from my perspective. I look forward to many future purchases.

I frankly would much prefer an honest review than people being afraid to say if some is wrong in their experience. KK's review is not what I would consider scathing in any way shape or form. This is what many consider a sizable purchase and it was a poor experience. Getting a full refund does not mean the experience has not been disheartening. I have also had a reasonable experience with Amcor but that does not mean that I don't want to see what can go wrong also. Personal attacks on how a person feels about their experience is not what this board needs. If a vendor can't weather the bad reviews along with the good they should not be in business. -Red

I think you are being way too harsh on MissKK. I thought her review was detailed and well written. I have to agree that her ring does not look like the other Amcor Lacy rings (which I adore and frequently think about purchasing, by the way!). This ring looks like a dud compared to the others and I appreciate that she outlined what to look for in the pictures because sometimes it's hard to tell what you are looking at. Pictures are practically a requirement in any negative review so everyone can see what the issues are. In other posts without photographic evidence people have been accused of being a crazy competitor or lying about their purchase.

MissKK also posted about the positive - her gorgeous fishtail setting which she posted in another thread. It's really beautiful!
I appreciate reading about the good AND the bad experiences. A negative review won't necessarily prevent me from ordering a ring from that particular vendor, but I like to research and be aware of what I'm getting into. Almost every vendor here has received a negative review at one point, so there is no need to sharpen your pitchforks. There is a large Amcor fan club on this forum and and there are lots of threads and pics to prove it. I'm thrilled for everyone that has received pretty rings from Amcor. However, I don't think it's right to gang up on someone that had a different experience than you. Just because she received a full refund (hooray for that!), doesn't mean that she has to remain silent. MissKK, I hope you don't regret writing your review. I'm sure there are several people here that appreciate it! Best of luck to you!

Red,....this is all true!!
And this is totally unfair to MissKK!!
This stuff is exactly what makes people AFRAID to tell the truth about ANY vendor here. Fear of being attacked like this.
We are all happy when it works out for someone else!! That is great!! But don't you want to know the other side?? So you can make a educated decision!!
Holy swivelsticks!! I have had a hard time with quality control with Amcor too!!
I suppose I need to post my review of the good and bad,.so MissKK is not the only one being beat up....
She is only trying to be honest!

Wow, is this forum not for consumers. What makes this forum and others like it so great is you get an honest view of the good and the bad.

I thought her review was very honest and thoughtful and I am very thankful for it because I was thinking about getting a custom piece through Amcor. So thank you so much MissKK for your honest review.

Sure there are way way more important things than jewelery, but we are all on here because we enjoy it. The hunt, the planning, the sharing, the anticipation is fun. Who on here would have been happy receiving the ring pictured? I doubt any of us would. It does not look like the Lacey pictured in the Amcor photo gallery, which is stunning.

I am sure Amcor will be fine they have many happy customers and great customer service. The fact that they gave her a refund will make many more comfortable using Amcor in the future. Often times it is not if a vendor makes a mistake or not (they all do) but how they handle that mistake afterwards that matters most. Lets not forget about all the consumers who come to this forum to get advice and an honest review of vendors.

Very well said. I too was not going to comment, but after reading this, and thinking the exact same thing I felt I had to say something. I agree with Gemsforme 1000 percent!

I too have done at least 10 projects with Amcor. All of my custom pieces have turned out perfect!

Hoenstly, a simple review of a paragraph or two, and maybe a couple of photos woudld have sufficed.

Should this ring have been sent out to a customer, NO WAY. However, all that anyone could have done was either re-make the ring, or give a full refund.

Yes, it can be midly annoying, or frustrating. But "devastating",& "loss of sleep" over a piece of metal, is a lot to put on any business owner. However, in the end he did the best any business owner could have possibly be done.

I am sorry you were not happy, but now you can have a new ring made. That should be kinda exciting.

You mentioned you have 2 rings that came in from Amcor, are you happy with the 2nd ring?

I too own a business, and yes I need to hear if an order is wrong, or defective. I will always do what I can to make my customers happy, and I think Amcor did just that.

They do thousands of rings every year, I too hope this does not keep people from doing business with Amcor, mistakes do and will happen with ANY vendor.

Good luck with with your new ring, I sincerely hope you are happy with your next project.

"Wow, I mean wow" to gemsforme's post. MissKK was not out of line in any way shape or form. Who is anyone to tell her what should and should not devastate her?! She has obviously been through something very major in her life and survived it. So maybe this really upset her and in your opinion, it shouldn't have. Well, with all due respect, your opinion doesn't really matter when it comes to how someone should or shouldnt feel.

MissKK, rock on! Your review was not out of line in any way and regardless of the outcome (re:refund) we thank you for your honesty!
