Im posting as a warning to other people from buying stones from this vender, H & P Gemstones, they are listed in Beverly Hills, Florida., 34465. Owners Harold & Pat. About 2 yrs ago I bought a stone from this vender at a gem show in Baltimore, Md. The stone was listed as unheated/untreated african ruby. The stone was said to be eye clean with intact silk seen under a loop with no signs of treatment. I bought the stone with no paperwork offered at the time, with only the verbal of a nice stone at a fair price. African ruby even untreated, is not usually a good buy for ruby material because of inclusions & orangish colors. This is the only ruby Ive bought because of the flood of bad stones about this time period. I took the stone home & scopped it & noticed a slight blue color under magnification-I thought maby just reflection but what I saw was the lead-glass filling along the grow tubes of the stone, I didnt know at the time what these were. The stone was appraised by several people, appraisals were questionable but good in that the stone appeared to be untreated. After several negative observations the stone was sent to AGL in NY. Results were Heated & Glass filled, no value set which AGL does not do. The test was done 2 yrs after sale but my issue was at the sale this was not disclosed by the seller or the lab report from them. I feel they knew what the stone was & the lab report given even after the sale 2 yrs later was kept from me until now. The sellers refuse refund & stand behind the sale to me. I will keep all evidence of this sale as a warning to others who might buy from this seller.m76...
