Forever One Hearts & Arrows vs. Diamelia Blazing Arrows

#1
After doing a LOT of exhaustive research (including many of your helpful posts on these forums!), I have ordered two stones to consider for my recently purchased engagement ring setting. The two best prospects I've settled on are the Charles and Clovard Forever One Hearts & Arrows and the Diamelia Blazing Arrows. I decided to post this thread about them so I can "pay it forward" so to speak for all of the research I have done. Hopefully this thread will help others in their decision making process.

My Forever One stone is waiting at my local FedEx store right now. I'll be picking it up after work.

The Diamelia, unfortunately, won't be here until Thursday.

Currently I am more excited about the Diamelia than I am about the F1 H&A, so it's going to be a tough wait! I am going to try to hold off on opening and looking at the F1 H&A until the Diamelia arrives. That way I can be objective and view them side-by-side.

I will post pics, videos, and thoughts as soon as I have both stones! In the mean time, if anyone has thoughts on either stone, feel free to share.

Got the Forever One Hearts & Arrows stone yesterday and it took every ounce of self control I had not to tear the box open! Really trying to stay patient until I get the Diamelia on Thursday so I can be objective when I compare them. Thursday can't get here soon enough! I even put in for the afternoon off of work.

My Diamelia arrived this morning. I can't wait to finally get to compare these two stones side-by-side this afternoon! Unfortunately, it's supposed to be cold and rainy, so I won't get to compare them in direct sunlight, but hopefully I will still be able to get a sense of which one i prefer through all of the other lighting methods I intend to try. Look for photos and videos later today!

This is so exciting! I have been researching forever and couldn't decide which simulant to get and stumbled across the Diamelia. I'll be getting an elongated cushion so there's not many options to compare! I can't wait to see what you think of the Diamelia compared to the F1 H&A. I seriously could not stand not opening that box earlier this week, but I have zero willpower. And taking the afternoon off work absolutely sounds like something I would do. LOL

I am very very excited about the Diamelia. Had I received that one first and been waiting on the F1, I am not sure I could have held out like I did. I just didn't want to put myself in a situation where I saw the F1 first and either hated it and therefore felt like I *had* to love the Diamelia or I loved it and got attached to it and then didn't give the Diamelia a fair shake. I think seeing them both at the same time and evaluating them against each other will be the best approach to make an objective choice. Can't wait to see if my suspicions about preferring the Diamelia are correct.

Well I'm anxiously awaiting your post! I feel the same way, like some videos I've watched everyone LOVES them but they do nothing for me (specifically the C&C). I'm super duper picky though. I've been chatting back and forth with Ron and he really is great to work with so far! I've even read that the Amora pales in comparison side by side with the Diamelia. Ron sent me a video of the ONE elongated cushion he's cut and I'm trying to make my mind up if I want to go that route. I would also have him do a custom setting with a split shank and halo, along with a 5 stone halo wedding band. This is an upgrade ring since we're coming up on our 12 year anniversary. :) I hope you aren't on the west coast and I have to wait until late today to see what you find out, because I'm in South Carolina I'm pretty excited too! LOL

YAY!!! I've tried posting videos he's sent me from YouTube but I cannot get it to work!!! It's really frustrating. LOL

If you go to GoldAndGems Jewelry and look at their channel, he just posted it yesterday. It's of the loose stone. The other is the 5 carat setting titled "Oh my! 5 carat vintage cushion"

So, first thought after taking a bunch of unboxing pictures and finally getting both stones out of their packaging is that I am TERRIBLE at taking up close, in focus, videos and photos of tiny things.

Second impression once I gave up on the camera was that I cannot tell a difference between these stones. After trying to examine them both as closely as I could under various lights, I cannot tell a difference except may the F1 as a *very slightly* larger table? The colors and refractive properties seem identical. I can't see any sorts of inclusions with my naked eye. The only possibly visible difference is the shape? Somehow the F1 seems a little "squatter" and the Diamelia seems a little "taller", but when I actually put them right next to each other, they seem to be the exact same height, so I don't know what is causing me to interpret them that way.

I am about to email my rep at my jewelry store (where I got my setting) and ask her if I can bring them in and look at them under jewelry store lights and maybe get her thoughts.

That's a great idea! I've heard the C&C stones are shorter, making them look less like a diamond. I'm really surprised they look the same! I was hoping for glaring differences that would make my decision easier. LOL! Anxious to hear what your jeweler says, and see pics!!!!!! (Side note: I'm also terrible at photos...so don't feel bad...)

I've even read that the Amora pales in comparison side by side with the Diamelia.
Ok just because you read something on the internet doesn't make it true :) esp when sellers have been caught posting as "users"...

I guarantee you the Amora Super Ideal Eternity H&A outperforms any round out there.

If that were not true, we'd just buy from the same place Ron is buying from for the "Diamelia". Why bother doing all our own production, laser cutting, verifying on Sarin HD and OGI HD (which no other manufacturer in the diamond alternative space is doing), and independent grading...we'd just order from the same chinese manufacturer that all these new 'brands' are ordering from.

Let me provide some concrete comparisons since the original poster asked about feedback on the Forever One, and I'm actually about to order some rounds from the same maker as the "Diamelia" brand so we can provide direct comparisons there as well.

And let's compare polish and facet edges:

We just had an F1 "H&A" here last week and the visual differences are easy to see...no way any other round is going to be able to best the Eternity Super Ideal H&A round. I think the above provides some basic comparison info.

And if you haven't seen it, we have a whole series of videos with Amora Eternity next to top H&A diamond - something I have yet to see any other diamond alternative maker do...

Anyway, I realize this thread is about F1 and Diamelia, but when I see people making outrageously false claims about the Eternity (that a much more poorly cut, poorly polished stone suddenly outdoes the Amora) then I do want to provide a correction and with factual comparison data.

Hope that helps,
Less

I ended up taking both of the gems to the jewelry store where I purchased my setting, since the whole idea was to drop one of them off today to be set. We looked at both of them under the jewelry store lights and still couldn't really choose. Eventually my sales rep took them both back to the jeweler to see if one of them might fit better in the setting than the other. He said both of them would fit perfectly in the setting and if he had to pick which one was better with a gun to his head, he would go with the Diamelia. So we went with his expert opinion and the fact that the Diamelia was $50 cheaper than the F1 H&A. We left the Diamelia with them and it will be set within a week! I can't wait for my finished ring! I got to wear my setting for a while when we were at the store. It was hard to say goodbye to it for another week, but I am so excited to have the finished ring and get to wear it every single day! I'll do the return stuff for the F1 tomorrow. It seems like it will be a fairly straightforward process.

That's so exciting! I can't wait to see it!!! I'm still undecided between the Diamelia, the Harro Gem and MoissaniteCo. The problem is not many vendors cut an elongated cushion yet, and the ones that do are typically antique cuts. Decisions, decisions!

Just when I finally decide on a Diamelia, I get an email update saying that Barely Pink Moissanite is back in production! I’m so torn. I’ve wanted Barely Pink forever. Now it’s a possibility again and I don’t know what to do!

Survived the weekend, anxiously awaiting my finished ring. Only a few more days to go! I went ahead and started the return process on my F1 H&A this morning. It was pretty easy. I like how they have a drop-down box for your reason for returning it and the first option is "No reason, I just don't want it anymore". Return shipping is free if you print and use the shipping label they provide for you. So I will be dropping it off at FedEx on my lunch break and it will be on its way back to North Carolina. I am actually a little sad to let it go. It is such a beautiful stone! Almost makes me wish I had some use for another 1ct stone! Still feel like I made a good choice sticking with the Diamelia, though.

For anyone who is considering the Forever One Hearts & Arrows or the Diamelia Blazing Arrows, I really don't think you can go wrong with either one! They were both gorgeous and you definitely won't be disappointed, no matter which one you choose.

I would be super anxious to get the finished product back! I got a quote for the engagement ring and wedding band I want from Ron with Diamelia and it was over $8k for 14k white gold. Over $10k for platinum, so I guess I won’t be going that route. Lol. The warranty policy also bothered me since you have to pay for 50% of the replacement stone even if it’s due to a change in the optics of the Stone (something that isn’t your fault.) That’s amazing that C&C has such an easy return process! There’s a lot to be said for that.

Moissanite Co doesn’t charge a restocking fee for loose stones that aren’t custom sizes, so I might order one and see how it looks in person.

I can’t wait to see pics of your ring!

Charles and Clovard doesn't charge a restocking fee either. As far as I know, the only money I lose out on is the shipping cost from when they sent the stone to me. Basic shipping is free, but I paid extra for expedited shipping. I will know for sure once they receive the stone (FedEx says expected deliver is tomorrow) and I see how much is credited back to me. I am having Ron give me a quote for a custom wedding band. Will post back here when I know more about that.
