Diamonna?

Hi welcome to the boards!

Moissanite does not not cloud over time. The Diamonna is moissanite, so no it will not cloud over time. Diamonna and Neo moissanite I believe are the only two moissanites with warrantees at this point in time. The warrantee covers basically anything that could happen to the stone, including clouding over time (even though it shouldn't), so even though the stone shouldn't cloud it's nice to know you have a warrantee!
That is good to know, I spoke with Ron. He is a really nice guy, and it was over the phone yet you can tell he has good character. I spoke to him over Diamonna Gem sold by Ron. He gave me good confidence on the warranty part, I asked him about what would happen 5 years down the road if my gem is worth less or more.
He explained that lets say for example I bought a gem today for 1000 USD, and 5 years down the road you expect that the process to develop the Gem would decrease in cost. So if the gem costs 900 dollars 5 years from today, then you would only need to pay 450 opposed to 500 for a replacement.

To me this sounds very fair and reasonable that as the economy of scale increases then cost of possible replacement goes down so there is some confidence that the product is backed up in such a way.

Although I do not have the luxury to go to the west coast I wish I could see the gem in person.

I jumped the gun and bought a 2.4C H&A round loose gem. I am having it shipped to NC to be put together with the main ring

I just bought a 2ct after waiting for the Amora gem for years. I just am frustrated with never being able to find one. But after talking with Ron at Gold And Gems, I'm more than happy with my Diamonna purchase. I will post pics once I get it in! It will be set in my current setting, which had an Asha 1.5 for the last 5 years.

How exciting!! I can't wait to see how pretty it will be! Yes these wait times are getting ridiculous, whenever they "produce" stones there are only about 5 for sale?! I've heard the diamonna, neo, and h&a moco are more diamond like anyway. AG seems to be trying to be "better" than diamond so has some pretty obvious cut differences. Can't wait for you to post pics/vids!

Did your stone come in?! Eager to hear your thoughts on it!

Yes it did! Here are a few pics of it:

I know the lighting is funky since I took a couple pics of it indoors with an led lighting it to see the light diffusion. I am hoping to have it set in my setting today and will upload more pics and vids then. Very excited! Right off the bat, I didn't see the darker arrows that are visible with the latest Amoras. I feel like overall, the stone is lighter in color and very much more diamond like.

Looking forward to pics and vids, @nkb! In the meantime, I don't see the two pics you added. Can you reload them, or change the settings on the photo hosting site?! So curious to see them!!! :)

Sam I cannot see your pictures!

So my Diamonna Gem arrived at my ring designer and she emailed me, telling me "WOW it looks like a REAL DIAMOND! Nothing like a Mossy!" That really made me feel at ease!

I will be getting the ring later on this week and I will take pictures.

So annoying, not sure why my pictures aren't showing! I just got it set today, and the jeweler was amazed. He tested it on the diamond tester and it rang true! He was really impressed and said he thought it might be really close as far as hardness was concerned. He said he wouldn't have known it wasn't a diamond unless I hadn't told him!

That's awesome! I'm glad you're loving it! Do you mean it tested as Diamond or Moissy? I think with all these new "diamond like" cuts it's getting harder and harder to tell these stones apart without looping them. How do you like the Diamonna performance and depth??

It tested as a diamond, he knew it wasn't a moissy. I am SO happy with my purchase, especially since it has a warranty on it. Even though I had bought the Diamonna, I still was checking for a SHAG Eternity, but as usual, none were ever on sale! The depth of the stone is beautiful; having had an Asha, I can totally see the difference. I want that steely goodness! and I like that the arrows aren't as dark as what the SHAG appears to have. It has fire, but not too much, and as you can see above, it was set in my old setting, and I AM IN LOVE!

Thanks for the photos, @nkb! And for your impressions of the stone, as well. :) Your ring is gorgeous and looks so perfect on your hand.

It's exciting to have so many options these days!

DH and I went to Gold and Gems today and purchased a 1.28 carat-equivalent Diamonna round. It's going to be a big step up from the cloudy CZ I've been wearing for too long. I have to wait a week for it to be set in a new crown in my existing ring, and I'm already jumping out of my skin in anticipation.

I asked Ron how the fire and brilliance ratings differed between Amora and Diamonna. He demurred from specifics, but I got the impression that kmeltzoff's theory is basically true, that the difference seems to lie in the cut, as Ron emphasized the Diamonna's less prominent arrows. And of course, another big difference is the availability of inventory. I walked away today owning a Diamonna gem, no long waiting list for some future Amora months hence.

It was a delight to see the sparkle of the Diamonna in person, step foot inside one of the hot spots of the diamond alternative movement at Gold and Gems, and witness Ron's pride and passion for his product.

This week will pass very slowly as I wait to get that gem on my finger!

I am so frustrated waiting for the Amora August Vintage I have pretty much given up. I went to the Diamonna website and it looks like they have an Antique cushion that will be released this year. YAY! They look amazing and if the reviews of this new stone continue to be positive, I may be able to get the cut I want. I know it won't be the proprietary cut but at this point, nobody will know the difference but me. And after all this time, I was thinking the Amora Gem was something so wildly different from Moissy but if they are pretty much all the same, why wait?
