Now that I read that it sounds like I'm advertising for them, so I'll give you guys some background info!
On April 12th I said the following:
"Hi! Someone told me that your rings are just cubic zirconia.. is this true??!!"

A man named Kyle from DNL responded:
"Absolutely not! Unfortunately some people are spreading false information about us. You can learn about how we're different from CZ here: http://www.diamondnexuslabs.com/compare_to_cz.php If you have any questions after you read it, just let me know! Thanks, Kyle"

And it basically all went down hill from there. This was the next set of questions from me-

Me- "So, do you guys (DNL) have a lab or something where you make your stones? I mean, they are synthetic diamonds, right?"

Diamond Nexus Labs- Hi Aly - Yes, we do have several labs throughout the nation and world. We do offer synthetic diamonds but the majority of what we offer is our diamond simulants. Synthetic diamonds are optically, physically and chemically the same as a mined diamond, they're just man-made. Our simulants are also optically and physically the same, they just simply have different chemistry. Since no one in the world can make clear synthetic diamonds over a half carat, we focus our efforts on our diamond simulants. Does that make sense?

After that exchange I basically gave up and called them out, citing the independent lab reports, so I'm looking forward to what they will say next

You know, they said this exact same kind of stuff years ago...about how when their new website launched they would have independent grading reports from 3 different labs, blah blah. That was 2008...its now 2011.

Instead of simply providing an independent grading report, they always want you to come in, call them, etc. to 'answer any questions'.....

Further, the item tested is their stone - thats why we hired IPCyberCrime to do the purchase...they follow the stringent procedures necessary to enter the test results as legal evidence in court. So no wiggle room on that one.

And the statement that their simulants are the same 'physically and optically' as diamonds is pure 100% BS.

Let me give you a basic tutorial on solid state chemistry:

The properties of any material stem from two simple things:
1 - Its atomic composition (what atoms it is made of)
2 - Atomic configuration (how those atoms are bonded)

Now, diamond is the way it is b/c it is very tightly packed and very small atoms. Thus, you cannot take their 10 elements they claim, including Ga and S which in fact don't even bond together by themselves, and magically make them have the same material properties as a densely packed, ultra-small atomic lattice.

Do this - they keep claiming to have a patent pending...what is their USPTO application number? You can't claim patent pending without one..

I personally emailed their lawyer in Sept 2010 and asked for it..no response.

Less, I will definitely ask them about the patent when I go to visit. Apparently I am going to meet the CEO, so I'm pretty excited. I'm trying to build an 'arsenal' of information to bring along with me. Anything you can think of besides the lab reports on here?
Also, the post is still up, but as a filtering method you have to become their friend to see posts! DNL has a main facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/DiamondNexus and this girl got pretty bent out of shape about my post. She really made her self look foolish, though. I'm been very civil throughout the entire thing, so we'll see what transpires from this meeting.

I am guessing that you have your own reasons for going to a meeting. I am just curious as to what you are trying to prove. I can say I am thankful I found this site and was lucky that I did not spend my money with DNL. I guess my point is that many folks look for an alternative to a GD and end up with a DNL ring or a Signity a Diamonique etc. I personally spent a couple of hundred dollars on a Ziamond a few years back and it screamed fake. Sorry, I am not trying to be antagonistic in my post but if you think for one moment that you will get behind closed doors with the CEO of DNL and he or she will admit that they are selling plain Jane cz's , which is not likely. Do you think they will close up shop? I am glad I am informed but I just don't understand what you trying to achieve. Good luck to you though. I wish you the best.

I agree with Colleen, what does meeting with the CEO prove about their stones? Nothing....wouldn't it be a lot more definitive to simply send their stone to EAG or any similar top notch materials lab and prove their wonder material? Oh right, we already hired IPCyberCrime to purchase and do that for them...and it came out as plain CZ so guess thats not a viable option...better to invite you to meet with the CEO

But if you want to try some questions:
1 - They claim patent pending...what is their USPTO patent number? And why do they not publish it?

2 - They constantly advertise "flawless synthetic diamonds"..yet their product by their own admission is not diamond...how does that not violate advertising ethics?



3 - Why do former employees consistently say their product is simply CZ?



And if they claim it has all the properties of diamond...

why are they not selling this cheap new wonder material for industrial use...and why do people keep posting about their stones repeatedly scratching?





You know what happens when you invent a new material that has similar properties to diamond? You get a lot of press, like this:

And guess what, its hard but not optically clear....where is their press coverage for this new wonder material they claim?

Hey guys, that is a TOTALLY legit point, and I know that me going is not going to actually prove anything real, but it's mostly for my own knowledge, and really to maybe ruffle their feathers a little tiny bit? AND, how often to you get to meet the CEO of a major company? Well, I guess I don't very often.


Truthfully, of course they aren't going to close up shop, and I know that, but I'm just going to test them a little bit. You know, maybe they will 'wow' me and I will change my mind about them, and I am open to that too.

I'm really just looking forward to meeting them and seeing their set-up, maybe comparing my asha to their comparable product!I'd love to hear what they have to say about it. I guess we'll see!

Why don't you just bring a moissanite with you (loose) and then ask to test one of their 'just like diamond' stones and try to scratch it?

You can't scratch diamond with moissanite, nor any of the near diamond materials...so they should be totally fine with letting you do that right?

And there you go - no more talking, explaining, etc. Just prove it right there.

^This. Plus I just don't see the point. They are professional con artists. You aren't going to test them or rattle them one little bit. You won't catch them off guard or wow them with your Asha. And you are open to listening to their speil and maybe changing your mind? Like a lamb walking into the lions den..... I'm just saying.

I'll take you at your word...

I don't know that I'd actually be concerned for your physical safety (an overly cautious person would take a buddy with them) but I just don't see the point. Even if they know that you know they are only selling CZ's...they just won't care. Maybe they'll continue to try to convince you or maybe they'll escort you out of the building.

What won't happen is a 20/20 undercover camera moment....where they look shamed and admit they are making false claims about their products and using those false claims to justify what they charge for plain old CZ's. That WON'T happen. If you want to amuse yourself just to see what they do then there's probably no harm in doing so. I just don't see the point, it seems like a waste of YOUR time because they won't care either way.

This is precisely my motivation. I will be unemployed soon (graduated and done with student teaching! hallelujah!) and have nothing else to do, so I won't be wasting much time
