im glad that you came out with your experience milady because it really highlights what can go wrong when you go custom...

i truly hope amcor can get ur ring looking how it was supposed to, then ull have 2 rockin rings

from what ive seen amcor do i find the metalwork is a bit heavier compared to some other vendors so if the setting is really delicate i dont think itd come out the same, which is what i think happened here :S

Poppy, you are so generous and sweet. That is very kind of you to offer a refund or to repair the ring again. That wasn't what I was trying to accomplish at all, but I might take you up on the offer to repair it. Even with all it's bumps 'n lumps, I'm very sentimental about this ring and one day, I would like to pass it down, if possible. This is the ring I was married in and I never want to get rid of it. I'll definitely consider that if Alb is willing to give it another go.
Thank you for the kind offer.
Yes yes yes!! Do it!!
Oh wouldnt it be wonderful to have a right hand ring of this for you!!
That's just what I was thinking Kanga.... I would email poppy and see what you two can work out.... I think something could come out of it that you could really like....

Milady, thanks for sharing. I do remember you had issues with your ring from the beginning. Hopefully you can get it fixed once and for all.

I found this setting on Adwar. Looks a lot like yours....maybe just needs an integrated fishtail prong head and some engraving on the shank?

That is so close Bling it's scary!!!!

Even if I get the Amcor ring repaired, I wouldn't wear it as a RHR. I purposely picked JbEG's Lily setting because it was kiiinda similiar to my original ring with the split shank and floral motif. JbEG's is obviously a souped up hyper-upgraded version, but still.
You can see some of the similiarities in these pics when I briefly had Lily (before the Asha OMC cracked):

Amcor ring is on my pinky, JbEG ring is on my ring finger...

Bling, you are a stud muffin! That is strikingly similar! I don't think I want Alb to start from scratch, though. I'm sentimental about it so I still want it to have the same shank, etc that I was married in, you know?

I totally get you on the sentimental attachment to the shank. I think having it reworked is a good idea too, just to be cleaner looking. I would not get him to try the milgraining etc, as it may just end up looking worse. Milgraining is an art, and you for you to be happy it needs to be perfect, and since he said it was too small to milgrain before, I am thinking it is not his string suit. And I am not sure what you should do with the engraving.

Thanks for your review Milady. I have always felt on the fence with Amcor custom. The basic settings are ok, but once you get into more intricate work then it starts getting iffy. I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. It stands true here, which is a reason why I only order casting house settings from Amcor.

I'm really not trying to diss them, I've worked with them twice now and it has been nothing but wonderful.

I love Amcor for what it is, great prices, great customer service.

Wow Milady!! I never saw Lily from the top view!!
I see what you mean! She is so pretty!

You know,..I keep hoping he has a new bench and can do the tiny details. Does he do the milgrain or his bench?
Cuz if you look at Joyce's huge peachy pink ring,..is all that milgrain??
There is alot of it!!

The beautiful milgrain on Joyce's ring is all hand done.

These are fairly recent example of hand done beautiful milgrain detail done by AmcorDesign.

That is where personal preference comes to play, as I find that bulky. I like my milgraining much more delicate than that, but maybe Milady likes it like that.

I agree, jcent. I prefer very fine, delicate milgrain so it's a subtle touch. The milgrain in those pics looks kinda like beads, which I wouldn't mind on a RHR, but I don't want that on my e-ring. I want it to enhance and not distract the ring, if that makes sense. Not that anything is wrong with that milgrain... it's simply personal preference!

and maybe that's in part why it looked okay to me? I'm not a millgrain person. It's just not my thing so I don't appreciate the nuances as much as others. Someone who's really into it will see differences where all I see is millgrain!

You mean the milgrain on my ring looked okay? lol, the problem is that my ring does NOT have milgrain. If you see any bumps on my ring, then that's a flaw, although you can't really see it in that picture. My inspiration ring had milgrain.

There is a LOT of milgrain on my custom ring and I am very impressed with the quality.

I'm sorry you have had so much trouble with the ring!! Thanks for the review! It made me nervous bc I fully intend to have Amcor make my custom ring and I would like for it to be my only e-ring.

I'm glad poppy chimmed in because it makes me less nervous to go that route! I love Lily Milady! That is a gorgeous ring
