Why do Takara Lab diamonds cost soooo much more than Amora Lab diamonds? I own an Amora and love it.
Takaras are diamonds, only grown in a lab instead of mined.
Amora Gem is not a diamond.
From the Amora Eternity Super Ideal H&A Round ordering page:
Good to know and explains a lot.
My real question is this:
Is lab growing a diamond anymore costly than lab growing SiC? It can't be exponentially more expensive of a process when SiC I believe requires more complex conditions (multiple elements) and higher temperatures to grow properly 4H and 6H SiC.
Because if the cost to grow is somewhat close to the same, asking 10x the cost for a lab diamond vs an Amora seems ridiculous to me, especially when Amora has better optical properties for brilliance and dispersion. Diamond is also easier to cut than SiC. Less has said this multiple times.
Yeah but SiC hasn't enjoyed decades of marketing hubris like C has.
