    Hi all,
A quick note to let you know that there's been substantial progress on our Takara lab grown diamonds, and we may have the first set of white's out for sale within the next month.

The majority of the Takara's apppear to be D color, with some E's and a few F's.

Initial sizes will be approximately .50ct - 1.25ct in round cut.

Pricing is still TBD, but I think you'll be pleased relative to equivalent natural mined diamonds.

More info to come over the next few weeks!

    Best regards,
    Less

EEEEEK! Oh, this is great. I want a pair of 6mm Amora Gems for new earrings, but those are haaaaaard to come by, so maybe this will work. [IMG] Can't wait to see them!

    Very exciting!

I've been keeping a close eye on Gemesis/PureGrownDiamonds over the past two years and am quite disappointed w/their price points. I'm looking forward to learning more about's BTD offerings going forward. Best of luck

    $28K for a 2.01ct G/VS1 doesn't get you excited? [IMG]

I've been watching Gemesis pricing as well since we have a vested interest. It's not clear to me how they intend to sell their diamonds, when much of their inventory seems to be priced close to, at, or even higher, than the equivalent mined diamonds on BlueNile.

We're trying to shoot for the 40-60% vs. cost of mined as mentioned, so lets see how we do now that the first Takara's will be out for sale soon, and we'll have a full accounting of our costs.

    Best regards,

My theory is that Gemesis wants to play up the eco-friendly and "just cool" angles. So many people insist that synthetic diamonds are available for $100 a caret on Ebay. No matter what price point Takara ends up at there will still be people who get angry because it's more than the ugly CZ sold on Ebay as synthetics.

The Takara's are in grading now at NAGL.

Initial feedback was very positive, the first one graded as an E color and they noted the Takara E is clearer than their GIA Diamond Set E.

The Takara's are all 'ultra-pure' Type IIa. They are also harder than most mined diamonds due to their purity.

Should have grading results by early next week and they'll be out for sale then as well!

    Hey Less,

Are the Takara diamonds all going to be H&A cuts too? =)

    Hi MissCassie,
The Takara's are being hand cut currently. They will be Very Good - Excellent cut, but not H&A like the Amora Gem.

    Hope that helps,
