    Hi,

I have a amora cushion set in a 14k setting. The setting needed to be dipped. It was getting yellowish.

The jeweler said that he may have to remove the stone, dip the setting and set it again.

Is this true? Or is stone ok getting dipped to white the setting?

    Thanks!

My rings/pieces have always been rhodium plated with the stones intact. If this person insists they need to unset and reset, I'd suggest going to another store/jeweller. :)

OK! I asked another jeweler, and he said it was fine too. I just wanted to double check! I get nervous. Thank you!

I have to agree with Cricketgirl. There is no need to remove the Amora to replate. We don't even remove CZs when replating!
