Was interested in buying a setting from the BTD site, but was curious if Palladium can be resized from .5-1 up or down?

    My g/f is a 5.5 in a 14k setting is palladium thicker?

Yes, palladium can indeed be resized by an experienced bench. The biggest drawback with palladium is that sometimes a sizing line still comes back after wearing it for a while.

Thanks Diamond. Would I be ok ordering a 5.5 in palladium if she wears the same size for a 14k setting?

Would of BTD crew be able to resize if necessary?

Is the sizing line inside the ring area?

Yes, you would order the regular ring size - the metal would not affect that. Also yes, BTD offers resizing services.

BTD uses laser welding when possible, to eliminate marks where pieces of metal are joined, but for any mark left from resizing those are on the underside of the shank. Essentially that means when wearing the ring, if you look at your palm, that part of the underside of the ring is where sizing is done.

Thank you Dana. Is the resizing process if I buy through the BTD site just send it back in and is their a fee associated with it?

Does Platinum do the same thing with the mark as well?

Getting platinum sized locally is easier than pd. I have sized a lot of platinum and there is never a mark.

There are advantages and disadvantages to both metals, so there isn't really one easy answer to that :)

Does Platinum also show the ring mark as well if resized?

I had to have my high pressure enhanced palladium rings sized and there is no mark at all - it was done by a local jeweller.

It is my preference. But some people prefer the PD.

No ring should show a mark of any kind after it has been resized. It shoud look like nothing has happened to it at all.
