I just bought a loose stone on the Bistro through Paypal. The new format is kind of confusing because back in the old days we messaged each other and agreements to buy or sell were made.

I think the "buy it now" can present issues for the buyer and seller.

Here is an example. If a Mahange spinel is listed in loose stones I would most likely try to snatch it up. I would (as I did) pay through Paypal and message the seller. However what if the seller through PM promised the stone to someone else?

I think to avoid confusion once an item is paid for with the buy it now option the site should mark the item as sold. And not rely on the seller to do this.

    Just my feedback. Thanks!

well, the paypal button isn't required - it's an optional thing. [IMG]

    Thanks for the feedback.

The buy it now button allows you to set the quantity available - i.e. the default is 1, but could be any amount.

Once a purchase is made, the qty available will decrement...thus, if 1 prior, setting it to 0 and not sending you into the paypal site should someone else come along right after that.

I think it does not mark it as sold on 0 since it can only detect if you entered the paypal payment screen and not if you completely checked out...thus leaving it up to the seller to do the final confirm that they actually received payment.

    Hope that helps,
